Against The Grain was born out of a passion to explore alternatives, to forge new paths, to do something different - we thrive on shaking things up, because following the crowd is never an option.
We are the founders of Brighton bass institute SuperCharged, and as originators of our scene and sound, we are proud to have played an integral role in developing UK bass culture since way back.
Those with a keen ear are already aware an exciting new chapter has begun for the breaks genre, and it's gathering pace. Some of the stand-out tracks which have created a huge amount of hype recently have been of the broken-beat variety. A list DJs are reaching for breaks records on the regular, and with new artists and new styles emerging alongside the scenes established heavyweights, it’s good times ahead.
